At Cornerstone Ballet Academy, it is our desire to nurture students to achieve their fullest potential by providing comprehensive dance training, as well as education and performance opporunities that are built on a strong foundation of classical ballet and biblically based standards and principles. We seek to inspire growth not only in dance training but also in the character of those we teach as we positively impact our community through artistic integrity.
Our vision is to elevate dance in the Four Corners region and beyond, embodying our 2025 theme, “Raising the Barre,” as we inspire dancers to reach new heights in artistry and impact. We envision a future where every leap and pirouette reflects not only technical mastery but also the transformative power of creativity, uniting our community through the universal language of movement.

Our History
In 2002, Kim Cumiford, a devoted mother and seasoned dancer, founded Dance4Him in Farmington, New Mexico, with a heartfelt vision: to create a wholesome, Christian environment where her daughter, Nicole, could chase her dream of becoming a professional dancer. Fueled by her own journey in dance—from her high school years to teaching at Elite Studio in Albuquerque and coaching at Menaul High School—Kim sought to nurture not just technical skill but also the spirit, building a sanctuary where dance could be an expression of faith and joy. What began as a small studio rooted in love and devotion quickly blossomed into a cherished community space, welcoming dancers of all ages to grow in artistry and grace within a supportive, faith-guided setting.
As the years unfolded, Dance4Him became a cornerstone of the Four Corners region, shaping countless young dancers with its blend of discipline, creativity, and compassion. Nicole, inspired by her mother’s vision, flourished as a dancer and instructor, embodying the dream Kim had nurtured for her. Alongside her, Rebecca—Kim’s daughter-in-law and a passionate dancer since age six—joined the studio, bringing her expertise in ballet, tap, and lyrical, as well as a deep commitment to injury prevention, ensuring dancers thrived both physically and artistically. Together, they carried forward Kim’s legacy, fostering a space where dancers could explore their potential while staying grounded in values of integrity and community.
In May 2025, Dance4Him evolved into Cornerstone Ballet Academy, a school dedicated to elevating dance education and performance, with Nicole and Rebecca at the helm as artistic directors. This transition marks a new chapter, blending the studio’s rich history with an ambitious future, as seen in the launch of Three Rivers Repertory Dance Company, which showcases both professional and preprofessional talent across the region and beyond. The academy’s commitment to excellence and high standards has touched thousands of lives, from local performances that unite the Farmington community to outreach initiatives that inspire dancers far and wide, it has grown into a transformative force for good in the world of dance.
2025: Raising The Barre
For our 2025/2026 season, Cornerstone Ballet Academy is embracing the theme, “Raising the Barre,” as we gracefully elevate our artistry through a season of thoughtful refinement for ourselves, our students, and our community. Through efforts like expanding our performances, thoughtfully refining how we group students by skill level, fostering growth and education for our faculty, founding a nonprofit, and so much more, we are setting a higher standard that enhances the elegance of our craft and deepens our connection with the Four Corners region. This year we invite our dancers and audiences to join us in a journey as we challenge ourselves to reach new heights — where every movement reflects the timeless beauty of dance and the promise of an ever more inspired future together.
